presents for [info]tenchichan.

So [info]frecklegirl asked me for a like avatar self-portrait thing recently, and I got this weird case of déjà vu.

...Feeling very much like a right bastard, I sat down and drew some little [info]tenchichans, and a bonus present.

You guys should know I've had a thing for colored lines recently, so. You can barely tell with this one since it's so small though. >:/

...Some of you know exactly whose style I'm aping. Hell, some of you may have even gotten a drawing from him, if you've been to certain anime conventions.

But if you don't. His name is Robert DeJesus. And—though he's pretty skilled—all of his caricatures have the exact same face.

Not that [info]tenchichan seems like he'd be interested in a sketch from Mr. DeJesus anyway—but there you go. Now you'll never have to ask him to draw you one of those infamous generic happy faces.

(...hey, this amused the hell out of me when I thought of it at 1 AM.)

I hereby declare that if you request an avatar/icon from me, you can have an actual one but you're getting one with a big gay rainbow on it too. (This goes for you too, [info]frecklegirl.)

It's definitely Alicia from Star Soldier Polaris. In the middle of fusing with the Phoenix. (Yeah, so artistic license was taken.)

She's one of those altruistic heroine types but I can't hold that against her, especially since reading SSP again reminded me of the SaGa Frontier OST.
holy crap the last time I drew her was like the day after I got my first Wacom. February 2001, I think?

Hokay, I'm the last person to start wanking about what anyone does with my drawings, so long as they're not turning a profit or claiming they drew it themselves. But. Since people DO stumble upon this thing from the internet.

As all of these icons were specifically requested by someone, I'd really appreciate it if no one used them without his permission. Thanks.

One last note to [info]tenchichan: Dude, if you're interested in the original sizes so you can edit these yourself, let me know and I'll email them to you. (Assuming the address on your profile is correct.) They're 400 × 400, so it's not like they're huge.

These images are small and the post isn't that long, so I'm leaving it uncut. You want me to cut it, leave a comment saying so.

All right, here are some reference photos. I think this is the best one (ignore the cosplay!) and there's a ton more pictures of me in the entry it came from. There's also this picture which I've been using for profiles, etc.

Pretty much what you made Tenchi is exactly what I want. XD

I was thinkin' about using a different icon and trying to convince you that you still owed me a drawing, since I have the original and you are notoriously forgetful. However, I chose the path of honesty instead. :]

ps, gmail is neat if you want a new permanent e-mail address.

Um, can you say AWESOME!?

The one with the bushy beard and the rainbow is my new favorite icon. EVER!

And the "Rikki DeJesus" one is great too cause the first thing I said when I saw that was "Dude, did Robert DeJesus draw that one?" The third icon you linked to is my friend Mike Fitzgerald. Weird coincidence, huh?

And the Polaris one is so good that it actually makes me wanna work on Polaris for once.

I'd love the bigger sizes, if anything just so I can have em on file.

Um, what'd you like your icon to be of? If it's to be a picture of you I'll need a photo or somesuch, as I have no idea what you look like. (though I did see the little elouai pixel doll on your layout before you took it off)

If not, um...well, you'll still need to tell me what you're looking for, and pictures/drawings still help immensely. (I'm a very visual person.) :]

I even took some photos on my crappy toy digital camera...so the pics look bad. But all my pics look bad...I need a real camera.

And boobs.

I'll send the ones that don't look worse than dung to your email...and hopefully you can piece together what I look like through those. You'll see what I mean.

Aw, the references I used for [info]tenchichan's were from youtube videos and cellphone camera pictures that were all at least three months old. Not like I'm into the photorealism gig anyway. So the photos you sent are cool, thanks. :]
